Biggest Pour. Biggest Teamwork. Biggest Milestone.

The first concrete hit the ground at 12:41 a.m., and for the next six hours, an incredible team effort unfolded. By the time the pour was complete around 6:30 a.m., more than 1,300 cubic yards of concrete had been placed to create a massive mat slab that will serve as the foundation for a 26-foot-tall concrete enclosure designed to house specialized food treatment equipment.

The numbers behind this effort are impressive:

✅ 1,300+ cubic yards of concrete placed
✅ 72,000+ pounds of reinforcing steel
✅ 62,880 pounds of ice used to control concrete temperatures (two refrigerated trailers full!)
✅ 112 test cylinders cast
✅ Two pump trucks in operation with a telebelt truck on standby
✅ Four concrete trucks unloading simultaneously
✅ Four washout locations
✅ Multiple trucks staged throughout the pour

The contractor’s goal was to unload 20 trucks per hour. They exceeded expectations by emptying 24 trucks in the first 50-55 minutes.

This achievement took months of planning and seamless coordination between designers, contractors, suppliers, testing teams, and field crews. Once the concrete was placed and safe to walk on, the slab was blanketed to support proper curing.
