Hall County Courthouse Project Update

Davis Design is proud to announce its partnership with Hall County and the creation of a state-of-the-art Hall County Courthouse in Grand Island. This groundbreaking project is poised to redefine their justice space while accommodating future needs.

Our design journey led us through numerous brainstorming sessions with county officials, judges, and court staff, exploring building options set within the historic courthouse campus. There are currently three design options proposed for a stand-alone courthouse. The first design option envisions a three-story addition housing four County Courtrooms and three District Courtrooms, resulting in a planned 65,750 square-foot structure. The second option presents a single courtroom on the lower level, elevating the total building size to 75,750 square feet. The third and final proposal incorporates a 22,000 square-foot fourth-level shell space, strategically reserved for future expansion, resulting in an expansive 87,491 square-foot facility.

Anticipating the needs of citizens and county officials, the new courthouse will offer a wealth of benefits, including modern courtrooms, dedicated hearing rooms for ceremonies, child custody proceedings, and vital mental health services. These spaces will be thoughtfully crafted to ensure safety and security, ADA accessibility, and equipped with cutting-edge audio-visual technology.
