Eustis Body Shop, Lincoln, NE

Eustis Body Shop began as a one-shop enterprise in 1979 when Doug Keller turned his childhood passion for cars into a thriving business. While the west was once the land of opportunity, Doug has expanded his operations moving east in Nebraska. It started in Eustis, followed by shops in Lexington, Grand Island, Kearney, Cozad and now, his sixth location in Lincoln. Doug spent several years conducting market research to identify Lincoln as the next location. Doug chose his location not only to serve the residents of Lincoln, but to give residents in the southeastern corner of Nebraska an opportunity to work with a body shop that still carries a business sense of ‘small town friendly.’

Once the southeast Lincoln location was selected, careful consideration was taken in reviewing the covenants of the development – which did not allow for a body shop to store damaged vehicles outside awaiting repair. As a resolution, a vertical stacker was designed into the building with provisions for a second to be added later. The design team also focused on the way vehicles enter the building, move through each stage of repair and exit the building, providing a more efficient workspace for each phase.

“Our Lincoln shop is unlike any of our other shops. We’ve learned a lot since our early days of operation and put a strong focus on fine-tuning the layout of the Lincoln building. We are continually educating ourselves and it was no different in learning what is efficient in the design of a body shop. Davis Design brought several ideas to the table and valuable insight to the design. Additionally, the knowledge Davis Design has of the area and the strict zoning requirements of the development proved to be invaluable as we began the process. I love the blue story pole on the front of the building, as well as the mixture of textures on the exterior. The design of the building gives us a strong presence from the highway and follows suit to the strong reputation we have across the state.”
